Family Day

2 Mondays ago was a Holiday for Alberta, Saskatchewan and Ontario called Family Day. In our town they always have a thing to celebrate it with sleigh rides, hot dogs, hot chocolate, face painting and there is skating too but all of us are not very good except my dad.

There is Jacob, my dad and I. Ben is behind my dad and my mom is taking the picture.

Ben getting his face painted as Spider Man

Jacob getting his face painted as spider man too.

Jacob got to ride with the driver on the sleigh. Now Ben, Jacob and I have all got to ride with the driver at least once.
God bless,

Meeting My Pen-Pal

Last Thursday Jacob had a dentist appointment. And I have a pen-pal that lives right near the dentist. So I wrote her telling her heads up because I might be coming and that I would phone her a couple days before then to make sure it was alright and to get directions. She wasn't busy that day so I got to go to her house well Jacob was at the dentist. We had a REALLY great time! It was my first time to meet one of my pen-pals (I have like 8 pen-pals).

Here is a picture of us together. Sorry my hair is all messy, my mom didn't say anything when she took the picture so I thought I must look fine.
God bless,
Rebekah

Faithful Fridays~Discretion

Faithful Fridays is a day where christians can share there faith, a song, a bible verse, a bible study that you are working through or anything that God has put on your heart to share. You can go to Joy's blog Doodle Bug to get the rules and picture.
Today I would like to share a verse that is really good and what it means.

As a ring of gold in a swine’s snout,
So is a lovely woman who lacks discretion.

Proverbs 11:22

Now who would want to see a ring in a pigs snout!?! Wouldn't that just be ugly? That is what it is saying. As beautiful and pretty as a woman can be if she doesn't have discretion she can get to be pretty bad looking.
Discretion means:
  • To judge what is correct and proper
  • United with caution
  • Prudent (Which means cautious in determining on any action or line of conduct)
  • Guarded
We as young women can show discretion by:
  • Dressing modestly not attracting attention
  • Having friendships that will not draw you away from God
  • The way we talk
  • Being careful not to flirt with boys because they could get the wrong feeling about you
  • By guarding the movies we watch, the music we listen to and the books we read. They should not contradict the Bible.
I hope that God will help us young women to show more discretion as we grow up to be women.

God bless,
Rebekah
